Summary of the Summer Camp “Youth. Peace. Security in Ukraine”: Civic Actions and Advocacy for 2250

From June 30 to July 3, 2025, the “Youth. Peace. Security in Ukraine” summer camp was held as part of the “Together We Can” program. This event brought together young leaders from Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy regions, providing them with the opportunity to engage deeply with critical topics such as international youth policy, gender equality, inclusion, and security in times of war.

Camp Overview

Over the course of the four-day camp, participants participated in lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions, focusing on key aspects of UN Security Council Resolution 2250. This resolution outlines the role of youth in peacebuilding processes, protection, conflict prevention, partnership, and integration.

Key Topics Discussed

  • Day 1: The camp began with introductions and lectures on the fundamentals of UN Security Council Resolution 2250. Participants engaged in exercises to identify gender stereotypes and explored the importance of inclusion in youth policy.

  • Day 2: The focus shifted to humanitarian challenges for youth during wartime and post-war recovery. Participants discussed the role of values and tolerance in society, and how these principles can guide youth involvement in rebuilding efforts.

  • Day 3: The day was dedicated to youth self-organization through civil society initiatives and the active participation of young people in shaping youth policy in Ukraine. This session emphasized the importance of grassroots movements and youth-led actions.

  • Day 4: Participants worked on creating roadmaps for Resolution 2250 tailored to their own communities. They developed projects aimed at implementing the principles of “Youth. Peace. Security” in real-life scenarios. Afterward, they presented their ideas and discussed how to effectively apply them in their local contexts.

The Impact of the Camp

The “Youth. Peace. Security in Ukraine” camp was an essential step in developing youth civic activism, nurturing future leaders who are committed to contributing to the peaceful rebuilding of their communities. All participants gained practical tools and knowledge to help implement their own initiatives focused on creating a better, more inclusive future for Ukraine.

Continued Efforts

While the camp has concluded, the “Human Rights Foundation” NGO continues its work in this field, supporting youth-led initiatives and contributing to strengthening peace and security in Ukraine. We are confident that the participants will apply their new knowledge and skills to drive positive change within their communities.

This project is implemented by the “Human Rights Foundation” NGO within the “Together We Can” program with the support of IFA and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
