CLASSIFICATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
HUMAN RIGHTS
Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world, from birth until death. They apply regardless of where you are from, what you believe or how you choose to live your life. Human rights are also rights we have simply because we exist as human beings – they are not granted by any state or person. These include the right to life, the right to a fair trial, freedom from torture and other cruel and inhuman treatment, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the rights to health, education and an adequate standard of living.
CLASSIFICATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
1. Civil rights: They include:
Right to life: Every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law.
No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life.
Right to inviolability of individual dignity: Human dignity is inviolable. It must be respected and protected.
Rights to freedom and privacy: Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence .Also, everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
2. Political rights: They include:
Right to take part in the government: The right to take part in public affairs and elections
guarantees the right of citizens to stand for public office, to vote in elections and to have access to positions in public service.
Freedom of speech: Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation ,censorship , or legal sanction.
Peaceful assembly: Every individual shall have the right to assemble freely with others. The exercise of this right shall be subject only to necessary restrictions provided for by law in particular those enacted in the interest of national security, the safety, health, ethics and rights and freedoms of others.
